If you’re planning a kitchen or bathroom renovation in 2026, mosaic tiles should definitely be on your radar. Once seen as purely decorative, mosaics have evolved into a key design element - balancing function and style with endless creative potential.
At Delforno Tiles, we’re seeing exciting new trends emerge that put mosaics front and centre. From subtle textures to bold statements, here are some of our most popular mosaic designs
Textured & Tactile Mosaic Tiles
2025 brought a shift toward tactile surfaces, with mosaic tiles that add subtle dimension and visual interest to walls and splashbacks. Think undulating patterns, 3D finishes, and tiles that play with light and shadow.
- Where to use: Feature walls, shower niches, or behind vanity mirrors
- Pro tip: Pair textured mosaics with minimalist fittings to let the tile do the talking.
Our pick: Mosaic Collection Micro Metro Vic Green
Earthy Colours & Natural Tones
Warm terracottas, greens, soft browns, and sand tones are replacing stark whites and greys in both kitchens and bathrooms.
- Why it works: These shades add warmth and softness to tiled areas - especially when paired with wood or stone elements.
- Try this: Neutral ceramic mosaic tiles with tonal variation for a handcrafted, organic feel.
Our pick: Sovereign Grigio Mosaic Porcelain Tile 30 x 30cm
Small Formats, Big Impact
Micro mosaics and small-format tiles are trending, especially in compact bathrooms or as a kitchen splashback. The tight grout lines create texture and pattern without overwhelming a space.
- Popular choices: Penny round tiles, tiny hexagons, and mini squares
- Best for: Small bathrooms, backsplashes, and feature borders
Our pick: Mosaic Collection Micro Metro White Matt
Bold Patterns & Contrasts
Love to make a statement? We're seeing a rise in bold mosaic designs - from high-contrast monochrome layouts to Art Deco-inspired patterns in black, gold, and teal.
- Tip: Use geometric or patterned mosaics as a focal point, then keep surrounding surfaces neutral to balance the look.
Our pick: Turquoise 6001 Soul Glass Mosaic Tile 36 x 29cm
Metallic & Iridescent Finishes
Metallic mosaics (think brushed gold, antique bronze, or silver accents) and iridescent glass tiles made a comeback in 2025 - but this time, it’s about subtle glamour. These tiles catch the light beautifully and work well in ambient spaces like powder rooms or behind mirrors.
- Try this: Glass mosaic tiles with pearlescent or shimmer finishes to add elegance without overdoing it.
Our pick: Hex Taupe Pearl Recycled Glass Tile 31 x 29.3cm
Sustainable & Recycled Materials
With eco-conscious building on the rise, recycled glass mosaics and tiles made from sustainable sources are becoming more popular. These tiles offer the same high-quality finish while reducing environmental impact - something many Delforno customers are asking for.
- Good to know: Most porcelain mosaic tiles are already low-maintenance and long-lasting, making them an eco-smart choice by design.
Mosaic Feature Walls & Borders
Feature walls are still going strong - but in 2025, our customers are using them more strategically. Mosaic tiles are being used to highlight architectural elements, like:
- Shower enclosures
- Kitchen splashbacks
- Fireplace surrounds
- Floating vanities
Design tip: Choose a mosaic tile that contrasts in colour or texture with your main surface tile.
Our pick: Mosaic Collection: Pink Hex Tile 31.7 x 30.7cm
Are Mosaic Tiles Still in Style?
Absolutely - and more than ever, they’re being used as intentional design features, not just decorative afterthoughts. Thanks to new manufacturing technologies, mosaic tiles now come in porcelain, ceramic, glass, stone, and even metallic blends, giving you more flexibility to mix style with practicality.
